It has almost been four years since The Terminal List premiered on Prime Video, and the anticipation for a second season has been brutal.
Thankfully, it hasn’t been four years since a project from the Jack Carr Cinivision Universe hit the screen. The Taylor Kitsch-led prequel series The Terminal List: Dark Wolf was instantly a massive hit when it premiered last August.
When will Season 2 be released?
Prime Video recently announced that Season 2 will be released on October 21. All eight episodes will drop at once, just like the first season.
What is it about?
Season 2 of The Terminal List, also known as True Believer, is based on Jack Carr’s book True Believer. Carr is a former Navy SEAL sniper and the author of ten books, including this year’s The Fourth Option. He is heavily involved in the show’s development as a co-creator, executive producer, and writer.
His second book, True Believer, follows James Reece on his path to redemption after the tragedy and unhinged violence of The Terminal List. James Reece sets sail across the ocean to Africa to either succumb to his tumor or find a new life. As he discovers a new mission, purpose, and team, a series of bombings, terrorist attacks, and assassinations send the world into a spin. Every sign points to a former partner force operator and teammate of James Reece, leaving the CIA with only one person to turn to and recruit.
Who will be in Season 2?
Chris Pratt will return as James Reece and will be joined by Constance Wu as Katie Buranek, Tom Hopper as Raife Hastings, Luke Hemsworth as Jules Landry, Dar Salim as Mo Farooq, and Shiraz Tzarfati as Tal Varon.
Potential returners include Taylor Kitsch as Ben Edwards, Tyner Rushing as Liz Riley, and JD Pardo as Tony Layun.
New additions include Gabriel Luna as Freddy Strain, Arnold Vosloo as Rich Hastings, Olga Kurylenko, Martin Sensmeier as Sgt. Major Jeff Otaktay, Costa Ronin as Vasili Adrenov, Edwin Hodge, Valentina Shevchenko, Caitlin Bassett, Yul Vazquez, Keith Jardine as Rick “Ox” Andrews, Tara Rosling as Judy Reece, and Taha Bayoud. Potential additions include Benjamin Byron Davis and David GS Jones.
Prime Video announced that True Believer “centers on Navy SEAL Commander James Reece (Chris Pratt) as he battles unknown conspiratorial forces seeking to upend the world order. The psychological revenge thriller of Season One opens up into a globe-trotting espionage thriller, taking Reece across the Indian Ocean, Southern and Northern Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. Reece will uncover a conspiracy that reaches from Moscow to Langley and ties into his own family’s history.”
Their announcement also included comments on the show’s commitment to authenticity, stating: “Building on the standard set in Season One, authenticity remains a core pillar of The Terminal List. Executive Producer and former Navy SEAL Jared Shaw and Executive Producer and former Army Ranger Max Adams oversee the action and authenticity work, joined by military veterans contributing as writers, actors, on-set technical advisors, and directors — including former Navy SEAL Ray Mendoza (Warfare). The series continues its commitment to portraying the mindset, brotherhood, and moral complexity of Special Operations with respect and realism.”
Much is still unknown, but the creative team behind the camera is as incredible as ever. Executive producers include Chris Pratt, Antoine Fuqua, writer and showrunner David DiGilio, author and former Navy SEAL Jack Carr, Kat Samick, former Army Ranger and writer Max Adams, and former Navy SEAL, writer, actor, and technical advisor Jared Shaw.
The Terminal List is produced by Amazon MGM Studios, MRC, and Civic Center Media. Known directors include Ray Mendoza (Warfare), Paul Cameron, who directed Episodes 5, 6, and 7 of The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, Tucker Gates, who directed Episode 5 of The Terminal List, and Marcos Siega.
